HIGHLAND HEIGHTS – Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger has announced his endorsement of Cleveland-area businessman Michael Canty in House District 6. Canty is running to fill the seat being vacated by term-limited State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills).
“I know that Michael Canty is going to work hard until November to give the people of this district someone they can count on to fight for them,” remarked Speaker Rosenberger. “He has the business acumen that we need in the Statehouse, and clearly has the community relationships to show that he is the best candidate for the job.”
Michael Canty is President and CEO of Alloy Bellows & Precision Welding, Inc. located in Highland Heights, OH. He has more than 35 years of business experience dealing with a wide variety
industries focused on business start-ups, turn-around ventures, and strategic growth initiatives.
In addition to his strong business background, Canty served on council, and as Mayor for eight years, in the village of Bentleyville. He has also served on various boards and commissions
throughout northeast Ohio, including the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the National Small Business Association (NSBA), the Republican Party of
Cuyahoga County Executive Finance Committee, Cuyahoga County Community College, and the Governor’s Small Business Advisory Council.
“I am so honored and humbled to have the support of so many business and political leaders throughout Cuyahoga County,” said Canty. “I will be focused on economic development, job and
value creation down in Columbus.”
Canty and his wife, Michele, reside in Bentleyville and have one daughter.
